Turkey’s foreign, defense ministers to attend NATO meeting in Brussels

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz is scheduled to participate in NATO’s annual defense and foreign ministers meeting in Brussels on April 18-19.

A statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry said foreign and defense ministers of NATO member countries will meet in North Atlantic Council format on Wednesday and the NATO member states ministers will also participate in NATO-Russia Council and foreign ministers of non-NATO states who contribute to the NATO-led International Security Assisstance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan on Thursday.

The statement said the ministers will discuss preparation for the NATO summit in Chicago on May 20-21 along with developments related to Afghanistan, missile defense, alliances and NATO-Russia relations.

Davutoğlu and Yılmaz are also expected to hold several bilateral meetings with their counterparts.
