Students clash, midterms postponed at Marmara University

A pro-Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) group of students and a nationalist group of students fought with wooden bats at the campus of the Faculty of Communication of Marmara University in İstanbul on Friday.

The clash, which came after a verbal dispute between the groups Thursday evening, caused a postponement of the midterm examinations. An alleged PKK supporter student, Murat Şaka, was injured on his hand and was taken to a nearby hospital by his friends. Teams from İstanbul Police Department were dispatched to the campus following the incident. Students were taken out of the campus accompanied by the police.
