Turkish police have taken 85 people into custody for their alleged involvement in export fraud in exchange for millions of liras in tax refunds from the state.
Following a two-year investigation by the Ankara Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Unit, a businessman's involvement in forging export documents in order to benefit from tax incentives was exposed by police. Upon a request from the Ankara Prosecutor's Office, police conducted simultaneous raids in 20 different provinces on Monday.
