Founded within the body of the Zaman newspaper, Yeni Bahar magazine is a lifestyle magazine with articles and interviews on the topics of family, health, education and religion.
Among the attendees at the celebration held at the Zaman daily’s building, where the magazine’s office is also located, were Bahçelievler Mayor Osman Develioğlu, Küçükçekmece Mayor Aziz Yeniay, İstanbul Deputy Mufti Bekir Derin, former Religious Affairs Directorate Vice President Ahmet Şark, singer Erkan Mutlu, and Ünal Öztürk, president of Kimse Yok Mu (Is Anybody There), a charity.
Following the speeches by the editor of the magazine, Elif Nesibe Temiz and Minister Kılıç, Zaman Editor-in-Chief and Today’s Zaman columnist Dumanlı spoke about how the magazine was founded as a result of the need for a magazine of this kind in the field. “Journalism is a hard job. We have to keep our ears to the ground and be open to every development going on in the world. It is a tiring job. And it can be tiring for the reader as well. Listening to oneself is as important as listening to others. Listening to your own soul is the key to understanding others. This is one of the aims of publishing such a magazine,” Dumanlı said.
Following the speeches, Kılıç, Dumanlı and the magazine team posed for photographs while cutting a cake specially made for the event.
