Galatasaray offers condolences over death of fan

The Galatasaray sports club offered its condolences on Monday over the death of Fatih Çalışkan, a fan who died of a heart attack during the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe game on Sunday.

The club issued the following statement on its website, the Anatolia news agency reported on Monday: “Last night we sadly lost 25-year-old Fatih Çalışkan, who died from a heart attack at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Türk Telekom Arena during the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe game. The Galatasaray Club is experiencing great sorrow over this loss.” The sports club says it sympathizes with Çalışkan’s family and friends and that it has authorized an official investigation into the incident.
