Members of the Association of Human Rights and Solidarity for Oppressed Peoples (MAZLUM-DER) and the Revolutionary Socialist Workers’ Party (DSİP) yesterday demonstrated in front of the Egyptian Embassy in Ankara, voicing their support for the Egyptians protesting in the streets for days trying to oust President Hosni Mubarak.

MAZLUM-DER President Ahmet Faruk Ünsal in a speech said that the people of Egypt, rising up for freedom, were being attacked by the pro-Israeli Mubarak regime. He said: “We hear that hundreds of thousands of people were indiscriminately fired at. We are here today to say out loud that the people of Egypt are not alone.” He said no dictator stands a chance of remaining in power in the face of a nation wanting justice and freedom. The group chanted “God is great” and burned pictures of Hosni Mubarak. Other chants of the crowd included “The Nation of Egypt will win,” “Murderer Mubarak, Zionists’ pet dog.”
